A cultivated garden plant seen this week (27.4.18) in Bangalore.

Not sure of the correct name.
For the name validation please.

This would be a new addition for Eflora.

Was it in an aquatic habitat?

No, it was not in an aquatic habitat.
A cultivated garden plant in a residential complex.
I found this on searching……..
Resembles and often misidentified as Neomarica longifolia or Trimezia martinicensis. Differentiated by shape of infloresence stalks — Trimezia has rounded flower stalks and leaf axis, while those in Neomarica are flattened. Trimezia steyermarkii has larger yellow flowers with brown spots, but Trimezia martinicensis has smaller pure yellow flowers. All 3 species mentioned here are different species, although often confused and used interchangeably with one another. Most of the commonly-cultivated plants known horticulturally as Neomarica longifolia are actually Trimezia steyermarkii.

Neomarica longifolia  (Link & Otto) Sprague

… recently posted this plant and pointed out to the correct name. Pl. check.

Thanks …, Read through the linked pages in … post.

Will go with Trimezia steyermarkii R.C.Foster … based on the fact that – Trimezia has rounded flower stalks and leaf axis, while those in Neomarica are flattened.
Will revise my notes soon.

.

Thanks …, I think you are right.
