. Scrambling or climbing shrub with long slender shoots; branchlets with dense gland-tipped bristles and scattered slender prickles. Leaves suborbicular 6-14 x 6-14cm, 3-5-lobed, base cordate, lobes broadly acute, serrate, pubescent above, softly pilose beneath; petioles 3-6cm, densely covered with soft hairs, gland-tipped bristles and scattered short prickles; stipules 2cm, divided to base into 4-5 linear segments. Flowers 3-5 in short axillary racemes; bracts pectinate. Calyx lobes ovate, 12-15mm, 3-5-toothed at apex, tomentose and with gland-tipped bristles and prickles. Petals 10mm, pink. Fruit 1.5-2cm with many drupelets. Fl. June-August
