This was cultivated in State horticulture department in Palur near Chengleput,TN.

Swietenia macrophylla King Looks different. Please check the leaves arrangement. Here it is alternate (leaflets). It is not so in S.macrophylla. Leaves resemble Annonaceae species. Try Hydnocarpus sp. Does not match.
Only a suggestion: Please also compare the images of Mammaea americana fruits. It seems to be Hydnocarpus species, I agree with … Appears close to Hydnocarpus pentandrus (Buch.-Ham.) Oken as per comparative images and details herein. You’re close

It doesn’t seem to fit in any of the genera suggested above. Even if we assume Hydnocarpus its none of the three native WG species. The flowers may prove conclusive. It’s surely Hydnocarpus pentandra… a tree species whose population is dwindling steadily but the decline is not reported. yes I agree with you It is Hydnocarpus only      Anacardiaceae? 5 images, Is it any Symplocos? May be vague guess. Isn’t it Sapindus mukorossi, I think looks different as per images at Sapindus mukorossi |
