Some of the messages in our posts are getting mysteriously deleted. This has been reported by Aarti ji and Somil ji. I also found similar instances of deletion of my messages.
Generally only the poster himself has got the power to get his message in the group deleted. This appears to be happening after the launch of New Google groups. Maybe there are bugs somewhere there, since the launch of the New Google groups.
I have reported it to the Google as below:
“Pl. see the following post:
https://groups.google.com/g/indiantreepix/c/yeO7IyLjF2s
My message has been mysteriously deleted.
There were similar complaints from other members.
This never happened before the arrival of New Google groups.”
You can also report any bugs in New Google groups by clicking on ‘Report Google groups Bug’ under settings icon in the top right corner in the new Google group.
If you notice similar instances, pl. let me know.

I too have noticed that messages are erroneously getting deleted.
I replied to a post (in the new Groups) and while doing so, the earlier message got deleted.
I thought I did not post the reply so drafted the message and posted it again, but again one more message got deleted.
Hopefully, we do not lose valuable replies due to this bug.

Thanks, …
You seems to have got the bug.
I hope you were replying through Google groups and not through your gmail.
I hope Aarti ji and Somil ji were also reply through google groups and not through their mail.
Pl. confirm.
Hi, …,
Pl. report the matter to google as I stated in this mail (You can also report any bugs in New Google groups by clicking on ‘Report Google groups Bug’ under settings icon in the top right corner in the new Google group.)

Also see My posts not seen on eflora

Thank you sir, for following up on this. I’m currently traveling and not able to access  the  group: will follow up when back

Thanks … as following your instruction, I have reverted to back to old Google group.

I generally forward messages to the group from gmail, by copy to experts in bcc and for other purposes. All such messages are shown as deleted in the group.
On further investigating this matter, I found that if I reply, it goes to the group. But if I forward it is shown as deleted on the group. Same thing is happening while forwarding messages from the group instead of Gmail.
I hope it may also be happening to other members also, who are forwarding the messages to the group.
I did all these experiments on this thread.
I am highlighting this to Google.
Hope they are able to resolve this issue.

I did all these experiments on the post with subject SK 2718 03 August 2020 – Mycophyta

I have reported this to google as below:

Pl. look into this urgently and fix this bug.”

Your today’s forwarded messages are not appearing in the group.

I am getting reply from …

Because these are seen in the mail, but not on the group (being automatically deleted due to some bug in new Google groups).

Yes I read your mail addressed to other members also.

How is this happening. Any solution?

Yes I too have got this problem …!!

As per your advice, yesterday I again posted my three posts dt.4.9.2020 as fresh mails from my gmail account. But they too have not appeared on this group page. What’s the solution ? Should I stop sending fresh queries until the issue is resolved ?

Pl. post some other plants. It should come.

No Luck …,

Yesterday I sent three fresh mails through my Gmail account, but they haven’t appeared on the group.

Pl. report the bug to google.
Other members posts are received.

Your message has come in the mails as I can see them.
But there is only one available in the group: Fruit for Id -ID07092020SH3 Osyris sp. from Santalaceae ?
But your images are missing.
I am reporting to Google.

Ok, Thanks.
Can you please tell me on which mail id should I report this ?

I have already reported.

This problem (forwarded messages being automatically deleted) seems to have been resolved now.
Both my forwards of 9.9.20 and today are appearing.
I hope other issue of images of some original posts (of Aarti ji and Shobha ji) not being seen, also get resolved.

Thanks for promptly following up, sir. The problem seems to have improved but somehow one post got deleted. I don’t know what might be the issue? I don’t think I used the delete option.
Also, I have noticed another change: earlier I was able to post up to 3-4 images, now not more than 2. It says that the “message is too big”

Total size upto 7 Mb each time. Rest can be attached in reply.

No limitation on no. of images.

I had sent three posts on 16-09-2020 but again they have not appeared on the eflora site. Seems to be a serious problem. Feeling helpless.

You need not worry, it will get resolved. Till then I will ensure that I post them again so that they appear in the group.
I have reported the matter the matter to Google as below:
“Shobha Chavda <koahum@gmail.com> has posted three messages on 16.9.20 in this group with subjects:
Flower for Id -ID16092020SH3
Flower for id -ID16092020SH2
Flower for Id -ID15092020SH1.Is it Habenaria rariflora ?
Though these have come in the mails of the members, but not appearing in the group with images.
This problem is happening for past three weeks for some of our members.
Pl. look into it and resolve the issue.”

Thanks … Hope it resolves soon. Very surprising that Google is taking so long to look into the matter.

Again I am finding that forwarded messages are getting automatically deleted

Problem seems to have been resolved at least for the time being.

On further checking, I found it has not been resolved.

My posts not seen on eflora : 9 posts by 2 authors.
Yesterday i had posted three posts for identification but surprisingly i couldn’t see any one of them on the page. What could have happened ? Should I repost them ?

Thanks, …
Yes, you are right.
Though your posts (like Plant for Id -ID04092020SH1) came in our mails, but not appearing in the gorup.
Did you post from your Gmail or from the Google groups ?
Also see

I have also reported it under New Google group Settings under ‘Report Google Groups Bugs’ as below:
“Post with subject ‘Plant for Id -ID04092020SH1’ though received in our mails, is not appearing in the google groups forum.
There are many other similar instances. Pl. get it resolved.”

…, I posted them as usual from my mail only. I was surprised when I checked on next day when they didn’t appear.

I am forwarding your posts again to efloraofindia.
Let me see if they come.

I can still not find them in the group.
So pl. post again.

Ok, will do that …

…, surprisingly when I checked the ‘Sent’ column in my mail account, i have received the ids for all 3 posts. Should  I post again ?

All these are appearing in the mails of the members, but in the Google group.

Non appearance and deletion of posts in Google groups, seems to have been resolved by Google, in view of launching of New Google groups in the foreseeable future, as I did not find any such issues in the past few days. Thanks, life is much easier now, as it was earlier.
If any of our members are still facing problems, pl. let me know.

I have not faced the above problem since a few days.
