Eranthemum strictum ?

What are the keys?
To me appears close to images at Eranthemum purpurascens Wight ex Nees

May I request you to post a high res. image.
I think it may be Eranthemum strictum Colebr. ex Roxb. as inflorescence looks longer and bracts look more linear lanceolate (as in POWO specimen) rather than ovate lanceolate bacts and shorter inflorescence as in your book and as in images at Eranthemum purpurascens and GBIF specimen one and two.

1 high res. image.

Let us keep it as Eranthemum strictum Colebr. ex Roxb. for the time being.

Can you post the description of Eranthemum strictum Colebr. ex Roxb. as I am not finding it on the net?
I think it may be Eranthemum strictum Colebr. ex Roxb. as inflorescence looks longer and bracts look more linear lanceolate (as in POWO specimen) rather than ovate lanceolate bacts and shorter inflorescence as in your book and as in images at Eranthemum purpurascens and GBIF specimen one and two.

Also inflorescence appears to be less dense compared to those at Eranthemum purpurascens

Let us keep it as Eranthemum strictum Colebr. ex Roxb. for the time being.

Eranthemum strictum in FOI:

They are different from Eranthemum strictum Colebr. ex Roxb., as per images, keys and references herein.

Pl. correct.

Thank you … for scrutinizing this. Please notice the short stamens (not protruding) and fewer number of primary veins of the leaves, which clearly distinguished this plant from Eranthemum pulchellum.

Bracts are most imp. aspect for I’d. Leaves may be variable.

Also, do compare with attached illustration of Eranthemum strictum

Bracts are clearly green in the illustration and not white with green nerves as in FOI.

That color variation may be a minor aspect, that’s my view.

No. Keys are based on whether bracts are green or white. Other things come later.
Pl. see keys at Eranthemum strictum Colebr. ex Roxb. and at Eranthemum

True, the color of the bracts is not green. But look at the 4-5 pairs of nerves on the leaves in the image on POWO, and in the illustration I posted earlier. This agrees with the plant depicted as E. strictum on FOI. Compare with the leaves of Eranthemum pulchellum. Also compare with the flowers with exserted stamens of  Eranthemum pulchellum, and the inflorescence.

I do not agree. Leaves are variable. Pl. see GBIF specimens and description in the book at our site link.
