Artemisia gmelinii: 10 images- 7 high res.
Along the roadside on the Leh-Khardung La road before South Pullu (15,300 ft) on 15.6.22 in Ladakh.
There seems to be two plants in some of the images.
I am talking of the one with a smaller, almost unopened type of leaves.

I think it matches better with Artemisia minor as per GBIF specimen and POWO specimen.

Hello dear, that is NOT Artemisia minor at all. But a member of the subgenus Seriphidium which is more common in the Ladakh Union territory.

May I request you to pl. go through GBIF specimen and POWO specimen.

Can it be Artemisia brevifolia as per POWO specimen and FoI ?

Not A. gmelini for sure !

Artemisia fragrans Willd. ??

No distribution as per POWO.

Thanks for your reply. I am working Taxonomy of the genus Artemisia from past 4 years and I am very certain that the taxa you are showing is 100% NOT “Art. minor“. I have a collection of the same from wild populations and also have cultivated its seeds for In-situ observations. If you wish I can share you a picture of the actual Art. minor  from my own collection.

Yes, if you post the image, it will be more helpful.

Any guess from the Checklist of Ladakh?

Can it be Artemisia brevifolia as per POWO specimen and FoI ?

Artemisia minor Jacquem. ex Besser ??

for me not brevifolia
