Peristylus sahanii P. Kumar, G.S.Rawat & J.S.Jalal Kew Bulletin 65 (1): 1-4 (2010);

Please find attached herewith our first new orchid to science (last time I had sent the second one), recently published in Kew Bulletin, UK. This was my dream to publish one of my articles in Kew Bulletin and
secondly to name a plant after my father.

The plant can be cited as:
Peristylus sahanii P. Kumar, G.S.Rawat & J.S.Jalal Kew Bulletin 65 (1): 1-4 (2010).

For the time being the taxa can be considered as endemic to Netarhat region of Jharkhand.

The etymology of the species says:
“The species name is derived from the surname of first authors father, Mr K. L. Sahani who motivated him to explore the forests of Jharkhand for the survey of orchids and although being an engineer, even accompanied him on several field trips.”

This is also important because it is exactly my 25th publication (Silver Jublee publication) on my CV.

Thanks to all for their valuable support and motivation.
