Seen at a plant nursery in Nasik on 20th Oct,15. This was the first time I came across a Pitcher Plant. Requesting help in id. So far as I know, there is one and only one pitcher plant indigenous to our country. Our pitcher plant is napenthis khasiana. I think the spe point of napenthis is different. Is it the same which … has mentioned? This was a cultivated plant. …, thanks for the name of the one we find in India. This should be Nepenthes alata or one of its hybrid, a native of Philippines.

I find these closer to images at Nepenthes alata (as identified by …) compared to those at Nepenthes khasiana I agree this is not khasiana. Fits better with Nepenthes alata. Belly is not so rounded in khasiana. Belly has a kind of much angular bend on upper side in Nepenthes mirabilis. |
