MS Jan,2017/05 Strobilanthes sp. for ID : 3 posts by 2 authors. Attachments (2) Location : Sairep, Mizoram I am fairly certain this is Strobilanthes discolor (Nees) T. Anderson. Glabrous corolla (somewhat curved) and very anisopyllous leaves. I can’t see the calyx but guess it is okay. To me these images look different from other images at Strobilanthes discolor
Kindly confirm.
I have had a bit more thought on these. I still think the two images attached to the e-mail you sent me are Strobilanthes discolor but the other images on the website are probably Strobilanthes clarkei. I only know this from old herbarium specimens. Do your correspondents collect specimens??? If so, is it possible to get an image of the specimen? I should indicate that it is always possible that a new species will be found in the NE frontier region and it is not always easy to spot these without specimens. I have been images from other sources showing a certainly new species from Arunachal Pradesh (near Tibet) and another probable one from Himachal Pradesh.

Strobilanthes urticifolia Wall. ex Kuntze ? Attachments (1) Details are not clear in your images.
If you have better images, pl. post. Yes, I am afraid details are not clear but I think this is either Strobilanthes discolour or S. clarkei. Note Strobilanthes urticifolia is a synonym of S. attenuata and this does not occur in NE India.
I guess S. discolor as suggested by …
