please help me identify the tree sp. with the following details
habit tree
flowering – end of may
flower color pink
altitude 247m
oozes milky latex when the twig is broken


Wrightia (arborea), I did heard or read that they turn purple before fading/falling…..


This looks more like Wrightia coccinea or a cultivar of it.

Wanted to share and get the id validated for this fairly large tree, shot from road to Siliguri from Darjeeling on a river bank.
I hope this should be Wrightia coccinea ….

The fruit bears many seeds, long fibers and the seeds are dispersed with the help of fiber when the fruit dehisces. 
Medium sized tree.
Flowering time-May- June.
Captured- Karimganj district of Assam. 


Just a vague guess (on seeing the central structure) … some species of Wrightia ?

I guess not listed in Nepal.


It is an ornamental plant. Perhaps introduced but not listed in Nepal.
