Gorgeous Impatiens for ID_RKC01_260811:
Pl help me to get the ID of this beautiful Impatiens:
Habit: Erect Herbs, ca 60 cms high.
Loc.: Khaari, East Kameng distt., Arunachal Pradesh (ca 500m)
Date: March, 2009

Nice pictures of Impatiens. I have no reference texts or experience with North East flora.

For the present I can only identify Impatiens species from Western Ghats. Since your balsam is from Arunachal Pradesh, someone who is familar with north Indian balsams may help.

Dr. Rajib Gogoi from BSI, Itanagar identified this as Impatiens laevigata Wall. ex Hook f. & Thomson (Balsaminaceae).

Here is one more Impatiens sp. from Mizoram. These are the only photographs available.

There are some similiarities with Impatiens from thread called

“Gorgeous Impatiens for ID_RKC01_260811”

I recently read some papers describing new Impatiens species from southern (?) China, and there were plants with predominantly yellow flowers and red markings.
I don’t think however I am able to find which species it is, unfortunately…

I suppose this is Impatiens laevigata.

Nr 5 looks like I. laevigata (?).

Unfortunately, these pictures are to small and done with to low resolution to be sure. There is also no comparison, even with your hand, how big are these flowers
DSC01332 and Impatiens_3299 look like I. laevigata; Impatiens_2952 could be the same. Impatiens with small, narrow, yellow flowers are particularly difficult and little known.
