Convolvulaceae week: RVS2: Ipomoea staphylina: Many thanks for sharing this plant, …- the flowers, buds, their arrangement in inflorescence all look very close to Ipomoea campanulata ! Is this Ipomoea amnicola? About 1-1.5 meters tall, spreading and flowering profusely. Hewittia malabarica (L.) Suresh syn : Ipomoea staphylina Roem. & Schult. One more question, how do you know if a plant has distribution in a particular area? I know that there is years of accumulated wisdom and keen interest behind it. Is there also some list to refer to for India or for specific states, and cities? Basically, you could check links like POWO, CoL and GBIF for distribution of species. Here also, one link may show the distribution of the particular sp and others not.
Further, you can browse Google for the distribution of the particular sp for the particular country and more at BPI, journals available and books.
Both are different. It is https://efloraofindia.com/2011/03/09/ipomoea-staphylina/
Looks different from images at https://efloraofindia.com/2011/10/29/hewittia-malabarica/ Confusing ! POWO is better these days. However, we need to refer to other links also. If one database shows the distribution, we should consider it I guess. . References:
