I hope this is a Solena spp.
This looks like Gometi [Solena amplexicaulis]. Please check the archives of this group for my photographs of this. Yes it seems to be Solena amplexicaulis (Lam.) Gandhi (syn: Solena heterophylla), different from Diplocycos in simple tendrils (branched in diplocycos), leaves glacous beneath, margin with minute distant teeth. It may not be Solena amplexicaulis as it is distributed in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala & Endemic as per The Cucurbitaceae of India:Accepted names, synonyms, geographic distribution, and information on images and DNA sequences by Susanne S. Renner, Arun K. Pandey. (2013).
Other species are Solena heterophylla Lour. subsp. heterophylla (syn. Melothria heterophylla (Lour.) Cogn. widely distributed all over India & Solena heterophylla Lour. subsp. napaulensis (Ser.) W.J.de Wilde & Duyfjes distributed in Western Himalaya (Garhwal, Kumaon hills, Uttarakhand) as per The Cucurbitaceae of India. For differences between two subspecies, pl. see Flora of China.
I think it should be Solena heterophylla Lour. subsp. heterophylla as per attachment (DeWilde_Solena_Blumea2004 (1).pdf) . Cucurbitaceae Week: Solena amplexicaulis_RKC01_05042012: Cucurbitaceae

I am attaching the only published revision of the genus Solena (by W. deWilde and his wife in Blumea 2004). It contains illustrations and a key to the three species that deWilde recognizes in this genus: Abstract copied here:
“The genus Solena Lour. is redefined, and its 3 species and 1 subspecies are keyed out and described: S. amplexicaulis occurs in S India, S. heterophylla, with 2 subspecies is widespread, but does not occur in S India, and S. umbellata (Klein ex Willd.) W.J. de Wilde & Duyfjes, comb. nov., occursbin S India and Sri Lanka. The status of S. heterophylla subsp. napaulensis (Ser.) W.J. de Wilde & Duyfjes, comb. & stat. nov. needs further study as this subspecies is very similar to the more widespread subsp. heterophylla, but it is distinct by sigmoid thecae. Solena amplexicaulis is taxonomically more distinct from the other two species of Solena. In southern India Kedrostis foetidissima much resembles Solena in general habit, especially by the more or less amplexicaul leaves, and therefore it is discussed and keyed out against Solena” Attachment- DeWilde_Solena_Blumea2004 (1MB)

Diplocyclos
Solena
To me it looks like Solena amplexicaulis Putting pictures for comparison:
Yes Solena appears the closest choice. Yes Sir leaves and flowers are different in both and clearly seen in … Post Need clarification regarding whether shape of Solena amplexicaulis does vary. Yes … leaf shape varies but not of flowers Tendrils in focus should be conclusive, as leaves can vary. Tendrils are simple in Solena, forked in Diplocyclos Need clarification regarding whether shape of Solena amplexicaulis fruit does vary. My concern is about the fruit in the posted plant – is kind of ellipsoid with pointed ends, with no signs of ridges; … in the comparative pictures, have posted a Solena amplexicaulis fruit which in growing stage is already elongated, shows hint of ridges too. Young fruit always looks different from a mature fruit. You should concentrate on shape of corolla: in Solena and your plant corolla lobes are very small and somewhat recurved, in Diplocyclos they are very long (tube very small) and spreading. Also in your specimens I could not detect any forked tendril. I think we better go with Solena only. Solena amplexicaulis ?? from PTR 71209 – NSD 124 : 4 posts by 3 authors. Attachments (2).
