Due to efforts of the experts most of my uploads got identified, I never looked these plants so closely..largely due to lack of understanding of distinguishing features.. the prostrate Euphorbia and herbaceous Phyllanthus sp. are always confusing to me..
This one is my last Euphorbia for identification, I won’t be surprised if this turns out to be a repeat upload, please bear and help to identify this species from Panipat

Identification of Euphorbia sp. : 9 posts by 6 authors. Attachments (2)
I request for help in identification of the attached Euphorbia sp. It was found in Puzhal, Chennai, Tamilnadu on 16-08-2015. It is prostrate herb radiating from the stem. Leaves have brown spot.

I think it is Euphorbia corrigioloides.
But let’s wait for experts’ comments.

Also check for Euphorbia maculata.

In Euphorbia maculata– Fruit is  1/10 inch wide, covered with short, soft incurved hairs.
And hence it may not be E.maculata (Spotted spurge)

The pictures of Euphorbia serpens available do not seem to match the pics posted.
Could be E. corrigioloides or E. maculata; … has ruled out the latter…

This is Euphorbia serpens Kunth, common throughout India from Kashmir to Tamil Nadu, as a weed in lawns, wastelands and roadsides.

I attach some more specimens for facilitating identification

Please visit the link – http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=2&taxon_id=112355#KEY-1-18 and you will see key to differentiate at least three species.
My species has leaf size of Euphorbia heyneana Spreng. But FoC says leaf base is extremely oblique in E. heyneana. How much is “extremely”?
… identified Euphorbia heyneana in a post
… identified another plant as Euphorbia serpens Kunth – efi thread
Fl. Br. Ind. describes both the species under E. microphylla Heyne. Bengal Plants has no “serpens”.
I think my species is Euphorbia serpens Kunth because of its stipules, even if leaf-size is more close to Euphorbia heyneana Spreng.
The Bengali name CHOTO KERUI (ছোট কেরই) for “microphylla”.

I, in my area, have identified it as E.heyneana

I very much subscribe to …

I think it should be Euphorbia serpens as per differences pointed out by … at SD034 Plant ID assistance

Euphorbia Herb For ID : Nasik : 10OCT16 : AK-13 : 10 posts by 5 authors. Attachments (2)
Photographed this tiny herb near a lake in July,15.
Seems to be Euphorbia Species.

A rough location?  Altitude?

This tiny herb was seen near the Gangapur Dam & Grasslands in Nasik, Maharashtra.
It was in the grasslands.
I have no idea about the altitude of the Dam, but Nasik town is close to 2,300 feet.
I was trying to photograph another herb.
While going through my pictures later, came across this tiny Euphorbia, which was not noticed before.
Sending the original picture clicked.

Thanks for providing infromation.  This part of India and elevation is beyond my knowledge, so cannot be of any help.  Too much outstanding re: Himalayan flora.
General location and approx. altitude are always so important when attempting to identify a plant – it narrows down the possibilities.

This is definitely not E. hypericifolia.
This is either Euphorbia thymifolia or E. prostrata.
To distinguish the two, you need to see an enlarged image of the capsules.
In E. thymifolia the capsules are hairy throughout. Whereas in E. prostrata the capsules are ciliate-hairy along the keels only and glabrous on the body. The photograph do not show the capsules clearly.
In such prostrate herbs, it would be better if you place a white paper below the plant before clicking the photo..

Thank you for the two suggested ids and their distinguishing differences. I will take more pictures when I revisit the place.

May I request you to post high resolution images to check the details.

Here is the original image.

This may be elusive Euphorbia heyneana as per details below:
Three prostrate species are rather close. I found the following keys in Flora of India:

30 a. Plants prostrate, only branches or tips of branches decumbent; cyathia solitary, paired or 3 together … 31
b. Plants erect, decumbent or ascending; cyathia more than 3 in glomerules … 33
31 a. Stems and branches pinkish grey; mature capsules remaining within the involucre … 32. E. thymifolia
b. Stems, branches and leaves green, glaucous-green, purplish green or blackish green; mature capsules protruding out from the involucre 32
32 a. Stems, branches and leaves blackish or purplish green; capsules acutely keeled, with ciliate hairs confined to keels only … 26. E. prostrata
b. Stems, branches and leaves green to glaucous-green; capsules obtusely keeled, glabrous or sparsely hairy all over the surface … 13. E. heyneana
33 a. Plants glabrous; leaves linear-lanceolate, 3 – 6 mm wide, glabrous to sparsely pilose … 17.
E. hyssopifolia

May I request you to pl. validate id as Euphorbia heyneana or otherwise, as I am unable to see clear details of fruits in GBIF specimens.

This appears to be E. serpens (red coloration due to stress). The plant (including fruits) is completely glabrous.
