Desmodium ¿ triflorum ?
Please validate this plant whether Desmodium triflorum. Somehow the pair of basal leaflets seem as large as the terminal, and also seem rounded at both ends. Dimensions of flowers, leaves are same as those of D. triflorum.

This one was a much smaller plant, leaflets barely 1 cm or less long and flowers in few-flowered raceme. Desmodium riddle from Hooghly: Well, years of accumulation of dust, mud, debris etc made this brick & mortar another cradle of life! And a part of this space turned itself into a garden, dominated by this tiny creeping herb.
An illustration found in FoP tells me that this might be Desmodium triflorum (L.) DC., but the description tells me that my flowers are much smaller. Searched the group posts, found.
On the other hand, images and description of leaves available in the sites below prevent me to ID this as D. microphyllum (Thunb.) DC. –
So, this remains a riddle to me. Attaching larger recorded yesterday at my place, Nalikul, Hooghly. … am making an attempt to analyze … may not be correct.
Your plant does not seem to matching to any of those in the listed links. Certainly this is not D. microphyllum, i copy a line from my post, “……. images and description of leaves available in the sites below prevent me to ID this as D. microphyllum (Thunb.) Habitat: Wild, grasslands, rice fields, forest boundary
Altitude: 100 to 300 m above msl Please check, it does not look like Desmodium triflorum, the leaves are clearly simple especially in your second photograph. Could it be some species of Indigofera. Only Ist Pix looks like Desmodium triflorum yes even i think, photos are mixed here.. i have checked some of the images of the same species and dug out them. Now i recalled that to take a close up of the flower i took out the leaves from the branches which is shown in the picture. The other thing is the time when i took photograph, the leaves were not completely open. U can find this in one more image which i am attaching for your kind conformation. The leaves are trifoliate here. Sir kindly have a look on the trifoliate leaves of the attached picture. I had also gone through your upload on same species. looks much similar to me except the petiole which is not seen in my pictures as the leaves are yet to open properly. this is alright, agreed D. triflorum, i guess we are concerned about the other images with Simple leaves.. It is very obvious that first photograph belongs to one species, and all others to another (Alysicarpus or Indigofera), the fruit in third photograph is much longer for this species swollen and constricted on both sides. In D. triflorum it is flattened, straight on upper side and constricted on lower side only. Yes sir i agreed with you completely. I was checking my original photographs. there is a mix up. I wl take care of this in my coming posts. I wl try to ID the other species in the post also.
