The omnipresent plantain tree While in Miao, we came across the plantain tree- both wild and cultivated, some of them with clusters of red fruits, some tall and some tiny, almost dwarf-like in different locations – the forest path, hill slopes, beside streams – they seemed to be everywhere. Take a look at these pics which should give you some idea about picturesque Miao with its dense greenery, swiftly flowing river and unique bio-diversity. I am forwarding herewith photographs of wild banana photographed in USA, last week (9.10.21). For me the plant looks like Musa velutina. Please confirm the ID or suggest a new ID. Net images says ID is Ok ! . References:
