Jasminum humile (Italian jasmine or yellow jasmine) is a species of flowering plant in the Oleaceae family, native to Afghanistan, the Himalayas and south west China.[1]

Growing 2.5–4 m (8–13 ft) tall by 3 m (10 ft) wide, it is a roundish semi-evergreen shrub with thick stems. It has stout, dark green leaves, 5 cm long, with 5-7 imparipinnate leaflets. In protected areas it retains its leaves over winter, though in cold winters its foliage and buds may freeze. It blooms in spring and summer with clusters of usually six yellow, scented flowers.[2][1]
The Latin specific epithet humile means “low-growing”.[3]
Numerous cultivars have been developed for garden use

Yellow Jasmine (Jasminum humile)
http://www.flowersofindia.YellowJasmine

this is Italian Jasmine
Jasminum humile, or J. giraldi
Family: Oleaceae

The correct new name is Jasminum bignoniaceum Wall. ex A. DC.

Jasmine humile blooms in spring and the formation of it’s leaves is also different.

Jasminum bignoniaceum !!

…, Thank you so much for your reply!
By the way, Which formation is leaves of Jasmine humile? I think impari-pinnate?

the leaves of Jasminum humile are bibipinnate and on secondary twig it has ony three leaves. My biggest drawback is that I am not a botanist, therefore cannot give you the detailed description of leaf and twig structure.

Jasminum humile has pinnate and not bipinnate leaves. Jasminum bignoniaceum growing wild in South Indian Hills was formerly included as synonym of J. humile but recently recognised as independent species, with some new varieities also recognised especially from Sri Lanka.
… it would be interesting to know differentiating features of J. humile s. str. and J. bignoniaceum.

Jasminum humile, L.
Yellow Jasmine is a small erect much-branched shrub, growing to 1 m or more tall, commonly found in the Himalayan region. It has green, angular branches. Leaves are pinnate with 3-7 ovate to lancelike leathery leaflets. The last leaflet is somewhat larger. Inflorescences are lax clusters of yellow tubular flowers at the end of branches. Flowers have a slender tube, 1-2 cm long, with 5 rounded spreading petals, about 6 mm. Sepal tube is cup shaped, only 3 mm in size, with tiny triangular sepals. Fruit is black berry, 8 mm in size, with crimson juice.
Jasminum bignoniaceum G.Don
Climber with flexuous glabrous stems. Leaves opposite or subopposite, simple; lamina 3·2–7·2 x 2–4·5 cm., ovate, glabrous (or very sparsely pilose) except for lanate acarodomatia in axils of main nerves on lower leaf face. Petioles 3–5 mm. long, articulated above the middle, pubescent on upper surface. Inflorescences 1–3 (–more?)–flowered, 1–2 (more?) cm. long, borne on main stems in leaf axils; axes pilose; bracts present, represented by a range of reduced leaves; pedicels (fruiting) c. 3 mm. long. Calyx tube c. 2 mm. long; lobes?6, 2–3 mm. long, each folded longitudinally and curved outwards. Fruit with lobes subglobose, c. 8 mm. long.
(Difference is denoted by coloured letters)

I see, humile and bignoniaceum is different. So I think it means that my photo is Jasminum humile based on quotes given by …, am I right?

Will you please give me the name of a spring blooming yellow flowered climber. Though it is commonly known as Pili Chameli, and it gives relief in tooth ache.

Thank you for your precious advice always.
I need one more advice about it.
There are several spieces in Jasminum humile.(var humile, var glabrum, var revolutum etc.)
I checked on web that flower of glabrum bloom down side. But its difficult to find difference between var humile and var revolutum.
Could someone give adivce?

In Jasminum humile var revolutum (Commonly known as Nepal Creeper) is a sterile plant, This is one of the best difference and doesn’t stand good for J humile var humile which gives out berries.

If your description of J. bignoniaceum is correct, having simple leaves, then above plant should be J. humile. I have seen a lot of J. humile in Kashmir, and it is a climber with pinnate leaves. There seems to be some doubt in above cited descriptions of the two species.

According to the reference provided I am correct!!
You can use the link to re-check it..

In that case I don’t comprehend how you identified it as J. bignoniaceum, which has simple leaves, whereas this plant has clearly pinnate leaves.

I never took this plant as Jasminum bignoniaceum at all. That’s the reason my only post in this thread was “Jasminum bignoniaceum !!”. Where I meant to convince the identity of the through relevant points. Alas there was no reply quite convincing at last you asked me to state the different and I took the initiative. That’s All !!!
This is Jasminum humile as said by … initially there in no doubt about the statement!!!

Leaves somewhat close to images at Jasminum grandiflorum, but does not match completely.

To me it seems Jasminum officinale. As per SOME BEAUTIFUL CLIMBERS AND SHRUBS OF INDIA by  N L BOR and M B RAIZADA, there is a mention of fruits in case of Jasminum officinale but not in case of Jasminum grandiflorum. The images uploaded by … indicates fruits.

Thank you …! I shall wait for the flowering season .
