Common name: Slender Corydalis
Erect annual or short lived perennial herbs, stout 30-60 cm tall. Stem weak slender, bluish green, terete, grooved, branched, glabrous or almost glaucous. Root stocks thin, often branched tap roots. Leaves all cauline, broadly ovate in outline, about 2-6 x 1.8-5 cm across, leaves glabrous, submembranous, thin, petiole about 2-4 cm long, with 3-5, triangular or ovate, ternate or biternate, lateral and terminal leaflets, margins deeply incised or lobed, lobes obovate-oblong, apex obtuse, petiolules about 1 cm long, leaves becoming smaller and petiole shorter towards the shoot. Inflorescence raceme subcorymbs, terminal, about 3-12 laxly flowered, dense, about 2-5 cm long, bracts leaf-like, upper bracts clavate, margin entire. Flowers bisexual, zygomorphic, yellow, tipped with brown, midrib grooved, apex apiculate, about 1-1.5 cm long, pedicels slender, glabrous, about 1-2 cm long, deflexed in fruit, Sepals 2, orbicular, margin dentate, fimbriate, green with reddish tint, about 2-3 x 1.5-2 mm across, petals 4, outer series dissimilar, upper petal spurred hooded and aristate at the apex, cristate, spur conical, short, curved upwards or straight, margin subentire, about 9-10 mm long, lower petal somewhat similar to the upper petals with prominent basal pouch., and median constriction, about 8-9 mm long, inner series winged, tipped with purplish black, nectariferous gland about half the length of spur, stamens 6, in 2 bundles, anthers dimorphous. Ovary unilocular, hypogynous, ovules many, style filiform, about 3 mm long, stigmas dilated, with 6 apical papillae of with 2 are shorter. Fruits capsules, linear-oblong, about 8-10 x 2-3 mm across, dehiscing when mature by tumid or inflated valves, with persistent style. Seeds 8-18, biseriate, suborbicular, about 1.2 mm across, shining black. Northwest Himalayas, altitude 2500-4000 m.

Flora of Uttarakhand- Herb26 for Id- JM: Wild Herb captured on 13/8/10 during the trek from Ghangaria (around 11,000 ft.) to Hemkunt Sahib (around 14000 ft.).
Corydalis for sure but not govaniana. The bracts are so different and dentate/serrate here. Perhaps a species of C. ramosa (vaginans) group
