ANJAN53 Please identify this Passiflora sp. : 9 posts by 6 authors. Attachments (3)
Family: Passifloraceae
Date: 31st October 2014
Place: Dehra Dun
Habitat: Sal Forest
Flower: 1 cm across

It could be P.foetida

Passiflora species in eFloraofindia (with details/ keys from published papers/ regional floras/ FRLHT/ FOI/ Biotik/ efloras/ books etc., where ever available)

How about Passiflora suberosa?

Foetida is full of glandular hairs all over the plant body including calyx.

Supporting … Passiflora suberosa only

This is not P.foetida. I am sure. Stems are thin, wiry and woody covered with sticky yellow hairs. Leaves are quite different. They have glandular hairs on stems and stipular tendrils : http://www.flowersofindia.net/catalog/slides/Love%20in%20a%20Mist.html.

Regarding the photographs sent by … the photograph of the flower is not clear. However, the leaves resemble P.suberosa. Hence the species could be P.suberosa.

Thank you very much …..
Here are some other photographs I was able to locate from that trip. Sorry for not uploading the fruits before. They had got lost somewhere in the entire folder! Attachments (3)

Yes, this should be Passiflora suberosa..
P. foetida is completey ruled out..
