Leaves simple, alternate; stipules lateral; petiole 2-8 mm long, slender, glabrous; lamina 5.5-26 x 2.5-12 cm, oblong, oblong-lanceolate, ovate-oblong, elliptic, ovate-elliptic, elliptic-lanceolate or rarely oblanceolate, base oblique, cordate, truncate, obtuse or round, apex apiculate to obtusely acuminate or acute, margin entire, coriaceous, glabrous, glossy; lateral nerves 4-12 pairs, raised beneath, pinnate, prominent, intercostae reticulate, prominent. Flowers unisexual, yellow, supra-axillary or rarely in axillary umbels; peduncle adnate to the them, 8-10 mm long; male flowers: pedicels 5-10 mm long; tepals 3+2-3, 1-3 x 0.7-2 mm; oblong, ovate, suborbicular or obovate; stamens 3-8, 1.2-2 mm long, connate by their connectives in a coloum; connectives produced; female flowers: pedicels 1-8 mm long; tepals 3+2-3, 1-3 x 1-2.5 mm, triangular, deltoid, oblong, ovate or suborbicular, occasionally the perianth cupular and 1.5-4 x 2 mm with ovate teeth; ovary superior, 1-2.5 mm across, subglobose or depressed, tomentose or glabrous; 4-7 locular, ovules 2 in each cell; styles to 3.5 mm long, free and triangular, connivent and columnar, conical to clavate; apical lobes 4-7, triangular, oblong or suborbicular. Date/Time- 30-04-2010 / 11:00 AM Could this be any species of Glochidion ? Glochidion most probably Glochidion zeylanicum. Check it with any flora preferably Gamble with flower. It is Glochidion sp. It is very confusing genus for species identity. You have to collect both male and female flowers of same plant and study. if it is near the streams or river then it can be G.zeylanicum. Thank you .. and … I admit what … said. … , I think these leaves and fruits belong to Aporosa cardiosperma (Gaertn.) Merr. Petioles bulgeing at both ends as you have mentioned, fruits globose pointed with the style, leaves glabrous acuminate all indicative of Aporosa species. You may check the details with the pictures of Aporosa I have uploaded a while back, and also compare with G. zeylanicum I have uploaded yesterday.
May be Glochidion zeylanicum The glabrous leaves, slightly supra-axillary inflorescences and scarcely lobed capsules are sufficient to identify it as Glochidion zeylanicum (Gaertn.) A.Juss. var. zeylanicum.

These appear to be female flowers. Please let us wait for comments; I was not able to find any images on Aporosa cardiosperma (Gaertn.) Merr. page showing female flowers. I was neither able to find any in Google image search. just a wild guess, any chance of any Diospyros spp. ? Try to match with the young fruits which we see in some of your images. Possible, … But I could not get to see female flowers anywhere to check.
