Since the Androsace lanuginosa is a complex Species needs critical studies as the leaves in photographs does not resemble to the species hence the identification is dubies

Thanks … for critical observation and suggestions…
The id is still open for experts to resolve..

These images from Gori valley have already been incorporated on A. lanuginosa page so should be deleted here or shifted to that page

Growing on the ground were a couple of plants of this rock jasmine which I assumed first to be the round leaf variety. Looking closer I saw the hairy tear-shape leaves. Is this Woolly Rock Jasmine? Please advise.

I think it is some kind of Rose.
Again from Pangot Near Nainital Uttarakhand.

To me it looks like some Primula Sp. from Primulaceae (Primrose) family.

Thanks, …,
It appears like Androsace sarmentosa from Primulaceae as per Concise flowers of Himalayas & as per links:

Thanks … This indeed looks like Androsace sarmentosa of Family Primulaceae.
In fact in my recent trip to Himalayas I saw these at several places mostly near Rohtang Pass. (Attached picture) Of course there is some colour variation but I think that is expected. Attachments (1)

This is Verbena species

This seems to be Androsace lanuginosa to me, not A.sarmentosa (or A.studiosorum, as the case may be)

This species was recorded from Chakrata in May, 2012..
I hope these pics belong to Androsace lanuginosa
Please validate..

Thanks … for sharing a series of beautiful pics……

Needs rechecking, as A. lanuginosa is characterised by short soft hairs nearly appressed, and leafy stolons. Here leaves have long spreading hairs and I don’t see leafy stolons. A. foliosa could be considered, or even A. robusta.

Interesting upload … I have not seen it earlier.

Thanks for appreciation …,  perhaps id is to be reconsidered as per … waiting for further expert opinion..
…, this is very common in Chakrata region.. and shoukd be there at similar altitudes…

Pictures of the species are as per links below from Androsace World – A Picture Gallery of The Genus Androsace:

I guess it is matching to Androsace lanuginosa Wall.! Alamy

Habitat: sloping meadow
Habit: low growing herb, flower 6 – 8 mm across (not sure).

Yes may be Androsace studiosarum (Syn A Sarmentosa)

.. this is just so fantastik that I was tempted to think that you did manual exposure and focusing etc…
but in some other thread you mentioned that there was always rush to take pictures etc…
so now… pl tell me what lenses did you carry with you that high up above sea level and in lower oxygen to
breathe than at sea level and did you manage the time required to do manual adjustments and use flash?

… true – always in rush to take pictures. My lenses are wide lens (14 – 45 mm), macro (45 mm), tele (45 – 200 mm).
I do not use flash.

Thanks for sharing these crystal clear flowers.
Family : Primulaceae

you carried all those three lenses and changed and rushed and walked with your friends who I understand were not mostly photographers
much kudos to you and your shoulders for carrying all that
thanks for telling me

Androsace studiosorum Kressis is a synonym of Androsace sarmentosa subsp. primuloides (Duby) Govaerts as per the Plant List

One has to confirm it whether it is Androsace sarmentosa Wallich in Roxburgh as per link:

Androsace studiosorum Kress as per link:
