Surely some Sapindaceae but not Dimocarpus longan Thank you very much Sir for confirming that it is NOT Dimocarpus longan Lour. I am sorry that my another upload is also not Dimocarpus longan Lour. Checked those fruits today, they need more weeks to mature. I won’t forget. These are the fruits of the very same tree that i suggested to be Dimocarpus longan Lour. (i meant Nephelium longana Cambess. = Dimocarpus longan Lour.). Attaching images of fruit of the same tree, recorded today. fruits are still unripe, recorded yesterday
there may not be further update or maybe after three/four weeks
you may ignore following links, this for my future reference-

Dimocarpus for ID :: MK May-001 2016 : 5 posts by 3 authors. Attachments (4)
Please help me in identifying this tree. When I identified with local flora, it narrowed down to Dimocarpus longan; BIOTIK images also confirms my id; but my doubt is that these fruits are not same as the Longan fruits in the market. Could this be any other species of Dimocarpus?
Height: 5 m Date: 10 May 2016
Place: Periya town, Waynad Dist., Kerala Habitat: wet forests there is some mistake somewhere… BIG… searching by highlighting your spelling Dimocarpus longan; i get this: efi page on Dimocarpus longan
I think these are unripe fruits of Dimocarpus longan. Pl. see details at efi thread. that thread and another by Surajit finally showed the fruits were indeen longon as we know from the market. this fruit here though reminds me os some sort of noni or its relatives. WHen in enlarges … pic… the surface of the fruit is kind of thick sharp edged protrusions, .. which in final ripening stage flattened out. in one continuous skin.
this current case shows fruit with segments, tops of which have a dark roundish pebble like surface, , not hairs… not unlike sitaphal or even noni.
the Biotik link Muthu has given indeed shows ripe fruits with red surface covered with round pebbly surface..
May be … can perhaps wait till the fruits ripen and photograph the fruits and their seeds like … did. ID 01 KANNUR: 3 posts by 2 authors. Attachments (1)- 2 MB. Dimocarpus longan 🙂
requesting plant id – indiantreepix | Google Groups Celastraceae & Sapindaceae Fortnight : Sapindaceae : Dimocarpus longan : Bangalore : AK-2 : Attachments (2). 1 post by 1 author.
I came across these brown colored fruits in Bangalore market during November. These resembled Lichees, the name given by the fruit vendor was Thailand Litchi.
On searching, I found these to be Longan fruits.
Kindly validate.
I think yes. What about the fruit size? A little smaller than Litchis. It looks like longan to me too. A blog featuring this fruit – http://fruitwarehouse.blogspot.in/ Tamhini ghat near Pune, MH :: Dimocarpus longan :: ARK2019-98 : 1 post by 1 author. Attachments (3)
This tree was seen on the banks of a pond in a deep forest in Tamhini ghat near Pune, MH in Aug 2019.
I could only get a long shot of the tree and some seeds around 10m away from the tree.
… identified the seeds and the tree on FB as Dimocarpus longan. tree id : 4 posts by 2 authors. Attachments (1)
please give the ID of this tree from shore line, kannur district, Kerala Pl. send a close up of the inflorescence & a habit picture, if possible. Sorry sir. This is the only image. Semecarpus anacardium L. fil. ?? Dimocarpus longan Oh you know the ID ? Good ! . Dysoxylum gotadhora SN28322: 3 images.
Dysoxylum gotadhora (Buch.-Ham.) Mabb planted in CMPDI campus Ranchi, wood hard, dark brown. I have doubts of this being Dysoxylum gotadhora as per images and details and references herein and as per POWO. Your pictures have some similarities with Simouruba species. Unable to get a clear picture of the leaves and arrangement. Please post the closeups of the flowers, leaves and branch showing clearly the arrangement of the leaves. Looks different from images at Definitely it is not D. gotadhora
It seems to be a member of family Simaroubaceae.
Most probably Ailanthus genus bcoz 10 stamens and even pinnate leaves. It might be Sapindaceae’s member too. Yes, appears close to images at Dimocarpus longan Lour. Thanks …, it appears so. I did not see the fruits yet. .
