plants from gujarat
its may be from Acanthaceae or Scrophulariaceae
plants found in drying moist ground

This plant belong to family Acanthaceae as flowers nature is caducous, Let me know the locality? Corolla hairy or not inner side?

What about Hemigraphis hirta?

So far i have not received name of locality of the plant in Gujarat State as i have written in previous mail…… any way. Thanks for good photographs.
The plant identified as Gantelbua urens (Heyne ex Roth) Bremek

Thanks a lot, …
It’s taxonomy seems confused in details available on net as below:
The Plant List Ver.1.1(Gantelbua urens (B.Heyne ex Roxb.) Bremek.is an unresolved name)

Flora of Eastern Karnataka, Volume 2 By N. P. Singh (1988- details- Gantelbua urens (B.Heyne ex Roth) Bremek. syn. Ruellia urens Heyne ex Roth; Hemigraphis dura T. Anders.)
Flora of Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh, India (2000- Gantelbua urens (Heyne ex Roth) Bremek. syn. Ruellia urens Heyne ex Roth; Hemigraphis dura T. Anders.)
Biodiversity in India, Volume 2 edited by T. Pullaiah (2003- Gantelbua urens (Roth) Bremek. syn. Ruellia urens Heyne ex Roth; Hemigraphis dura T. Anders.)
Could anyone pl. help in nailing down the current name for this species.

As per GRIN, Gantelbua is a syn. of Strobilanthes & there is only one unresolved species i.e. Gantelbua urens (B.Heyne ex Roxb.) Bremek. as per The Plant List.

Gantelbua urens is now a syn. of Hemigraphis urens (Roth) J.R.I.Woods as per another thread.
Thanks a lot, … for resolving this.

Hemographos hirta

Thanks, …, Matches with images of Strobilanthes urens rather than of Strobilanthes hirta

Wild Flower For ID : Nasik : 010514 : AK-1 : 7 posts by 3 authors. Attachments (3).
A small wild flower seen today in the middle of fallen dried leaves.
Id please

Just a guess….. Hemigraphis latebrosa?

No, not Hemigraphis latebrosa..
Though this is also from Acanthaceae..

Thanks for the correction.
Yes, it does look like an Acanthaceae member.

Adding two more pictures of the plant

I’m confused between Hemigraphis crenata and Hemigraphis hirta.
Can anyone please clearly state the differences between the 2?
I have recently been seeing this same little plant in moist places. The flowers seem large for such a small plant. Leaves seem to vary in the amount to hairiness and flower colour ranges from almost white, to pinkish to lavender.
At first I thought it was H. crenata and now I have a slight doubt.
Experts please comment.

Thanks for your feedback.
Possibly, … could help in this regard.
In Shrikant ji’s new book ‘Additions to Flowers of Sahyadri, I found a similar looking flower Gantelbua urens…..again this is just a guess as I am not an expert.

Unfortunately have to only guess the sizes. If the flower is about 2 cm, it may be Gantelbua urens. The season is also in favour of this ID.

The size of the flower was approx a third of my index finger.
Could locate one more picture with dried flowers.

I had sent these pictures to … and later mentioned the approx size of the flower. The reply I got from him is as follows…..
“That tallies with 2 cm and hence Gantelbua.”

Thanks, …,

Acanthaceae herb from Asansol area West Bengal 30423: 1 image.

Strobilanthes hirta (Vahl) Blume

I think more closer to
https://efloraofindia.com/2011/03/02/gantelbua-urens/ rather than https://efloraofindia.com/2011/03/05/hemigraphis-hirta/

No …, it isStrobilanthes hirta only, it is available frequently. I spent 3 days in the field there. Strobilanthes urens frequent in Maharashtra and Telangana area. There I saw plenty.

Pl. check length of the corola tube and hairiness of the leaves.

I will go with
https://efloraofindia.com/2011/03/02/gantelbua-urens/ only

OKay … thanks. Some colour variation due to the environment it seems.
