Could anyone pl. help in nailing down the current name for this species. As per GRIN, Gantelbua is a syn. of Strobilanthes & there is only one unresolved species i.e. Gantelbua urens (B.Heyne ex Roxb.) Bremek. as per The Plant List. Gantelbua urens is now a syn. of Hemigraphis urens (Roth) J.R.I.Woods as per another thread.

A small wild flower seen today in the middle of fallen dried leaves. Id please Just a guess….. Hemigraphis latebrosa? No, not Hemigraphis latebrosa.. Thanks for the correction.
Yes, it does look like an Acanthaceae member. Adding two more pictures of the plant I’m confused between Hemigraphis crenata and Hemigraphis hirta. Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately have to only guess the sizes. If the flower is about 2 cm, it may be Gantelbua urens. The season is also in favour of this ID. The size of the flower was approx a third of my index finger. I had sent these pictures to … and later mentioned the approx size of the flower. The reply I got from him is as follows….. Thanks, …,
It’s taxonomy seems confused in details available on net as below:

Thanks …, It is Hemigraphis hirta (Vahl) T.Anderson, a stiff hardy herb, hairs are spinascent, pierces the finger. Not very sure but could be Gantelbua urens posted by me from Nasik and identified by … efi page on Hemigraphis urens (Syn: Gantelbua urens (B.Heyne ex Roxb.) Bremek.; ………..)
I guess Strobilanthes urens is correct. . I’d of a plant near water body: 2 high res. images. Strobilanthes urens (B.Heyne ex Roth) J.R.I.Wood . Need ID of purplish acanth: 4 high res. images. Strobilanthes urens (Roth) J. R. I. Wood ! Yes, as per images at .
Strobilanthes hirta (Vahl) Blume I think more closer to No …, it isStrobilanthes hirta only, it is available frequently. I spent 3 days in the field there. Strobilanthes urens frequent in Maharashtra and Telangana area. There I saw plenty. Pl. check length of the corola tube and hairiness of the leaves. I will go with OKay … thanks. Some colour variation due to the environment it seems.
