Its not Impatiens sp.? Impatiens arguta Hook.f. & Thomson ??
Strobilanthes sp. Sorry !! I guess it is Impatiens sp.
Looks like I. arguta.
I. arguta is variable species and could have different colour forms. .
Difficult to say anything with this image. If, you have other images, pl. post. Unfortunately, I do not 🙁 Impatiens roingensis Hareesh, A.Joe & M.Sabu ! POWO shows it to be a synonym of Impatiens arguta Hook.f. & Thomson Couple of databases says syn and some other say accepted. May I request the authors and others, who published subsequently to tell whether to treat this as Impatiens roingensis Hareesh, A.Joe & M.Sabu or as syn. of Impatiens arguta (as followed by POWO). I think Impatiens roingensis and Impatiens arguta are reasonably distinct. Impatiens arguta has a wide distribution, China South-Central, East Himalaya, Myanmar, Nepal, Tibet. Impatiens roingensis on the other hand is restricted to Dibang valley. I think the plant here is Impatiens roingensis. When we found Impatiens roingensis in Dibang valley, it never occurred to us at all that it could be confused with Impatiens arguta. Recently synonimised the same.. But the authors themselves and Dr. Gogoi (subsequent publications as per references in POWO) think it to be a syn. of I.arguta. You are right about the publications … I must say I am surprised with this. To me the lower sepal of the two look different. In the original paper describing Impatiens roingensis, the authors did compare it with Impatiens arguta. However, I am no expert on these matters.
Please check Impatiens roingensis Hareesh, A.Joe & M.Sabu Do they show variations in flower colours? Because the previous roingensis identified is quite different from this one. I. arguta It is a variant of I. arguta
