Kalatope id al080711: Possible id ‘Shady Himalayan Clearweed (Pilea umbrosa)’

rather dumb of me … but I was so sure that it was a nettle..(not realising that there were MANY nettles that I just took a photo of the flower and not the plant)
Location Kalatope, Chamba
Altitude 2100 mts
habit herb
habitat wild
Plant height 2 feet

I think … is right, Pilea umbrosa seems right choice.
… it does not have stinging hairs, rather soft hairs on branches.

I imagine why it is called Pilea. Pilea means “cap or hat”.

This is not Girardinia. Please check it for Pilea.

Thanks Sir for confirmation. I was taking it as Girardinia but … photo helped me to correct the ID.

Probably last in the series of flowers snapped during Pangot Binsar trip.

Looks like Pilea species (Urticaceae).

Thanks, … It looks a bit different from Pilea scripta, the only species mentioned in ‘Concise Flowers of the Himalayas’ as per link: flowersofindia
I think it’s Pilea bracteosa as per illustration

Pilea martini (H.Lév.) Hand.-Mazz.

Thank you for your email. However I am a bit confused here. Pilea martini you have
identified earlier looks different: efi thread.
This looks different, may be P. umbrosa as identified by … ?

Yes, might be P. umbrosa. These species are very similar and not easy to be distinguished from living photos. There are many micro-morphological characters are important for Pilea identification.
