ID Request– Herb at Unchalli Falls- karnataka-PKA-Nov-03 : 8 posts by 5 authors. Attachments (6) Seen this small herb at Unchalli falls, North karnataka. Looks like some Ophiorrhiza sp (Rubiaceae). Yes, the fruits are characteristic. The following five species are occurring in Karnataka: O. brunonis, O. codyensis, O. hirsutula, O mungos and O. rugosa var. prostrata. There is a publication on the genus for India by D.B.Deb and D. Mondal and the publisher is The Scientific Publishers, Jodhpur, India. Digital Flora of Karnataka may help. We have only one species O.fasciculata here in Uttarakhand which it is not. Ophiorrhiza rugosa Wall. is reported from Udupi. Pl check! It should be Ophiorrhiza rugosa

I am sending book print about Ophiirrhiza found in Kathmandu valley. Hope it would help to identify some of Ophirrhiza from Kathmandu valley I have posted. Pl. check in the net if any of them matches. Ophiorriza is a bit difficult for me ! But the first issue is if it the correct genus.
Yes it looks like Ophiorrhiza mungos O. mungos not listed in Nepal ! It is Ophiorhiza sp. It is species of Ophiorrhiza

I meant that you may be having similar postings in other threads with the same id. Pl. also try to identify those threads. But looks different from images at researchgate I had about 5/6 Ophiorrhiza submitted in the EFI but non are identified properly or still creating confusion and looks like a difficult species to identify. In this case also I cannot say definitely about the confusion. Images in FOI has been corrected to flowersofindia

Difficult part is Ophiorrhiza mungos not listed in Nepal !
