ID Request– Herb at Unchalli Falls- karnataka-PKA-Nov-03 : 8 posts by 5 authors. Attachments (6) Seen this small herb at Unchalli falls, North karnataka. Looks like some Ophiorrhiza sp (Rubiaceae). Yes, the fruits are characteristic. The following five species are occurring in Karnataka: O. brunonis, O. codyensis, O. hirsutula, O mungos and O. rugosa var. prostrata. There is a publication on the genus for India by D.B.Deb and D. Mondal and the publisher is The Scientific Publishers, Jodhpur, India. Digital Flora of Karnataka may help. We have only one species O.fasciculata here in Uttarakhand which it is not. Ophiorrhiza rugosa Wall. is reported from Udupi. Pl check! It should be Ophiorrhiza rugosa
