Have seen the other common variety with white flowers….but these buds were pink in color. yes is kund. Kund flower can be white or rusty red. I know it is Kunda, wanted the botanical name for it. Jasminum pubescens and J. pubescens ‘Rubescesns’. .

It is J. multiflorum also known as J. pubescens. It is a shrub. Jasmine is both shrub and creeper. Chameli is creeper, and motia is shrub, although I have seen motia changing into a creeper. I had attempted a write-up on Jasmines sometime back

Please identify the Jasmin plant in the photo. It is from a temple from Badarpur Mehrauli Rd. New Delhi. Here Malies call it Dela. It blooms during winter. It’s flowers are white and it has no fragrance. Probably Jasminum multiflorum .

I am forwarding it second time for identification with some more pictures I hope some body would know what kind of jasmine is it. It grows wild in the dried river beds of kanha in month of Feburary. It is a large shrub with opposite leaves & flowers are full of sweet fragrance. Looks close to Jasminum nitidum, but I’ll defer to local experts. I think I will go with … this plant is Jasminum nitidum !! I have seen this plant in Matheran. No idea which Jasminum sp. The buds of J. nitidum are long and slender, different from what is seen in … pictures. What surprises me is that J. dichotomum is not common as a garden plant here, but still seems to have escaped cultivation in Kanha. Does J. nitidum set seed locally there? I’ve never seen any fruits on it in Florida or California, probably one of the reasons it is a recommended species here. I don’t know if it is sterile (seems unlikely) or has a specific pollinator not found in the US? …, no idea whether J. nitidum sets seed here. Again, not a very common garden plant here. I would strongly suggest monitoring J. dichotomum there. It appears to be bee-pollinated (we have few other pollinators likely to do the job; perhaps hummingbirds as well?) and sets copious seed that local birds here apparently eat/distribute. Jasminum elongatum is a very widespread and variable species.
On checking all the posts in efi site for both the species, confusion remains despite the details and keys as above. This must have been further compounded by being in cultivation for a long period.
