ID Please-3: Please help with the ID of this herb photographed at Sanjay Gandhi National Park on 4th July ’10. This is Ampelocissus latifolia [Wild Grapes]. … oh yes, it must be A. latifolia just as … puts it. Chances of Urena (erect herb) looks totally zero. However, never had the luck to encounter A. latifolia with sinuate leaves, have always seen them lobed !!! Incase you still have any doubts, here are some of my photographs taken last week at my farm to show the different shapes of Wild Grape leaves. We have discussed it last year during monsoon days but I am not getting the link. Here is my picture. discoverlife Here are my pics of A latifolia from Karnal Ampelocissus latifolia (Roxb.) Planch.: This species seems to be Ampelocissus latifolia (Roxb.) Planch., GOVILA in Bengali, recorded at Garalgacha (Hooghly), West Bengal, on 24-Aug.-2012. Related links :-
Yeoor Hills after pre monsoon showers for wild flowers. : Mixed thread- 1 correct image. 5 posts by 5 authors.
After the pre monsoon showers the Forest Spider Lily blooms in the hills of Yeoor, SGNP Thane. These flowers bloom first before the leafs. I was planning for many years to see this unique phenomenon and it happened this year. Along with these Lilies the Yellow Ground Star aka Kali Musali flowers too had come up at the base of the shoots. Submitting the pictures for correct ID too.

Another climber seen at SGNP, Mumbai on 29/7/13 at the Silonda Trail, during TAW. Id please. It may be Ampelocissus latifolia. Thanks for a possible id.
I could locate one more picture with fruits. Hope it helps.
We were shown all the flora with names, I’m getting a bit confused with the ids. Thanks for the fruit picture. I did not get the point in your words “…We were shown all the flora with names…” Thanks … for confirming the id and thanks for supportive and nice pictures as well.
I meant I had gone to this National Park in Mumbai along with TAW Team (Tree Appreciation Walk), there we were shown all the flora along the Silonda Trail. But the leaves & fruits (which did not belong to those leaves) got me confused. On checking my data, I found it was already correctly identified earlier. I do have a picture of the flowers as well. Will add it. I could locate a picture of the flowers. Adding the same. Flora Picture of the Year 2013: Balkar Singh : 9 posts by 9 authors. Attachments (1). Lovely picture with great details! Photographed last week (6.7.15) on Madh Hill, North Mumbai.
Please help to find the ID of this large wild climber found in the moist forests; it was very ubiquitous in that region. The fruits (0.5cm across) tasted just like Grapes.

Fruit for Id- ID25052017SH3 : 7 posts by 3 authors. Attachments (4)
Fruit for Id pl. This bunch was on a very long pinkish coloured creeper. By any chance these are wild grapes ? Ampelocissus latifolia) ? Location – Mumbai (near one of the mangroves) Ampelocissus latifolia (Roxb.) Planch. [Vitaceae]. The photograph labelled “Copy of New Album 357.jpg” is of the flowers and the other three pictures are of the buds. This creeper was spread everywhere on the ground and a tree. Saw some new leaf growth near it. Are these the leaves of same creeper or some other plant ? Could not make out as lot of mix-up on the ground…. The mature as well as the young leaves of Ampelocissus latifolia are altogether different from those in your photograph. The leaves in your picture remind me of Ipomoea mauritiana Jacq. [Convolvulaceae].
Vitis latifolia?
Now accepted name Ampelocissus latifolia (Roxb.) Planch. May be as per images at Ampelocissus latifolia

and as … said, number of berries is different I guess the ID is correct !

Ampelocissus latifolia (Roxb.) Planch. Dear friends, Appears close as per Ampelocissus latifolia Yes I agree ! Leaves can be in highly dissected form too !
A typical feature is, 5 main veins emerge where petiole ends, and radiate, making 4 nearly equal angles …
and the reach up to the 5 angles/corners of leaf lamina.

. Request to consider for correct vernacular names of Ampelocissus latifolia in EFI : 5 posts by 3 authors. Attachments (4)
I visited the page of Ampelocissus (latifolia Roxb.) in EFI , found Panisaru, Tiniangulia as vernacular name in Odia, which is to be corrected. I am attaching pages from 3 major books 1). THE FLORA OF ORISSA 1994 publ.
Odia names-Pani kacha, Paninoha, Paniamoha, Dibroi, Kanjianoi.
2). UDVIDA SANGRAHA – Prof MalyaKumar Misra1998publ.
Odia names-Kanjianai, Pani Lahi, Kanjinai, Panikachha.
3). FLORAL DIVERSITY OF NANDANKANA WILD LIFE SANCTUARY2012 Publ.
Odia names-Pani Kacha, Kanjianoi.
And Sir, odia word Pani saru is for Lasia spinosa (L.) Thw, Araceae – page also attached of Prof Malay K Misra
Sir, I request you to peruse the above & insert correct Odia names for Ampelocissus latifolia (Roxb.), Thanks very very much, …
I will incorporate the names in my notes in some time from now.
May I request you to please provide the names: dibroi, kanjianoi, pani kacha, pani lahi, paniamoha, paninoha in Odia script. Otherwise adding them with just Roman spellings gives rise to ambiguous pronunciations.
…, I heavily depend on an online dictionary – Purnnachandra Ordia Bhashakosha by Praharaj, G.C. It is authentic, though the scientific names are most often found wrongly spelled.
ପାଣିସାରୁ panisaru is listed in the dictionary. … http://dsalsrv02.uchicago.edu/cgi-bin/philologic/getobject.pl?c.28:4430.praharaj
The name is shared among
1) some species of Colocasia,
2) Lasia heterophylla (Roxb.) Schott … synonym of Lasia spinosa (L.) Thwaites
3) Vitis latifolia Roxb. … synonym of Ampelocissus latifolia (Roxb.) Planch.
ତିନି ଆଙ୍ଗୁଳିଆ tini angulia is listed in the dictionary … http://dsalsrv02.uchicago.edu/cgi-bin/philologic/getobject.pl?c.24:2385.praharaj
The name is shared among
1) Vitis latifolia Roxb. … synonym of Ampelocissus latifolia (Roxb.) Planch.
2) Vitis pedata (Lam.) Wallich ex Wight … synonym of Cayratia pedata (Lam.) Gagnep.
3) Adiantum lunulatum Burm. f.
Let me know, whether you still think the above names are incorrectly referred to Ampelocissus latifolia (Roxb.) Planch. envis.frlht. < Check this link ALSO for common names ଦିବରୋଇ, କାଞିଆ ନଇ, ପାଣିକଛ, ପାଣିଲହି, ପାଣିଅମୋହା, ପାଣିନୋହା Thank you very very much …, for the names in Odia script. I will update the names in eFI site shortly. Thank you very much … for the clarification. Sir, namaskar. Sorry to say that I am not acquainted with typing both, so Odia script words (5nos) sent earlier as desired by you, The Pirnachandra bhasakosa, Sir, no doubt a nice publication but related to Odia literature & the 3 publications are taxonomical, Whether the publication is inclined towards literature or taxonomy, associating vernacular names to botanical names, requires the same study/ research. I will retain the names listed in dictionary, unless someone authoritatively clarifies ପାଣିସାରୁ panisaru and ତିନି ଆଙ୍ଗୁଳିଆ tini angulia are incorrectly entered as names of Vitis latifolia syn. of Ampelocissus latifolia.

Ampelocissus, Vitaceae ! yes, it is Ampelocissus latifolia but tendril is required Ampelocissus rugosa?? I collected it, it is A.Latifolia only. . Ampelocissus divaricata (Wall. ex M. A. Lawson) Planch.: 6 very high res. images.
Location: Surkhet, West Nepal Altitude: 1057m. Date: 12 August 2021 Habit : Wild Ampelocissus divaricata mostly has 3-foliate leaves as per keys at Ampelocissus and as per POWO. It appears to be close to Ampelocissus sikkimensis (Laws.) Planch. as per images and details herein. Pl. see GBIF specimens- one and two and three. 5. Ampelocissus sikkimensis (M.A.Lawson) Planch., Vigne Amer. Vitic. Eur. 8:375. Flora of China for Ampelocissus sikkimensis (M. A. Lawson) Planchon says “Compound dichasium leaf-opposed, base with a bifurcate tendril”; Tendril here is trifurcate which is with only 2 sp. Then it should be Ampelocissus latifolia as per POWO. OK .
