The book- Crassulaceae of India : 2 posts by 2 authors. Attachments (2)
I have recently purchased “Crassulaceae of India” authored by N.B. Singh, U.C. Bhattacharyya and B.P. Uniyal and published by Bishen Singh Mahendra Pal Singh, Dehradun.
This book, published in 2011, describes 60 taxa (9 genera, 58 species and 2 varieties) with line diagrams of nearly all species. Detailed descriptions of the genera and species are given with keys to differentiate genera, species and varieties. However, one should not expect cultivated taxa in it as most of the taxonomic accounts/ floras deal with wild species; the book is no exception to this.
With a price tag of Rs 1950 though this document disappoints with lack of colour plates and average quality of diagrams, it is the only document dealing with complete Crassulaceae in India.
