This medium-sized tree was shot from the periphery of Renuka Ji Lake (Himachal Pradesh) in April 2011..
wanted to share this for id after I saw an upload of Litsea glutinosa by …
the flowers were small with boat-shaped sepals, creamish petals and numerous woolly stamens…
I could never see this anywhere again for detailed shots of flowers/fruits…
I hope to get the id from these pics only.. I thought Mitragyna parvifolia I too think this could be Mitragyna parvifolia It looks more like a Litsea sp. to me I think … is correct. Thanks for correction. Thanks … for correction Hope Litsea consimilis I agree with …, it is not Mitragyna. May be Litsea monopetala. perhaps it is Litsea monopetala Fwd: Fwd: [efloraofindia:150003] NS 01: Small Tree for Id from Renuka Ji (H.P.) :

Not sure though june15sk18/23 Litsea salicifolia (J. Roxb. ex Nees) Hook. f. ??? : 3 posts by 1 author. Attachments (8) Photographed these fruits about 2 hrs. ago, a wild small to medium tree on pond-side.
ID would be appreciated.
As per distribution by Sir Prain we should have Litsea glutinosa, Litsea apetala and Litsea salicifolia Hook. f. var. laurifolia of Fl. Br. Ind. I would like to add that leaves glabrous upper surface, abaxially soft hairy (can’t say if tomentose, hoary…..etc). This is Litsea monopetala (Roxb.) Pers. (syn. L. polyantha Juss.), I think. I have taken account of all species in Bengal Plants, irrespective of distribution.
Attached here trunk, branch, branchlet, petiole and leaf character.
Interesting feature is this has all kind of lamina!

Observed this large tree profusely flowering. Kaziranga Assam.
??Lauraceae
My guess is Litsea monopetala (Lauraceae) Is this Litsea glutinosa? Or Litsea monopetala? Image is not that much wonderful…. a close up would have given better identifying features… This tree is very common in Assam. I find it here at Cooch Behar but not that common. I don’t know the name of the tree. I captured few images of bird eating fruits of this tree. Attaching two such images which may help in identification. If you have any other images, pl. post. Was not possible to take closeups It seems the tree is Litsea monopetala (syn Litsea polyantha). ID of the tree; # (4 replies, 2 pictures, 15.12.10); I think more close up & other details pictures are required for identification. Can this be a Memycylon? Litsea monopetala?? Bridelia retusa var. roxburghiana Müll.Arg. is a synonym of Bridelia retusa (L.) A.Juss. as per The Plant List I think looks different from images at Bridelia retusa
Certainly Sir. Some Litsea sp. might be. I would suggest Litsea monopetala (Roxb.) Pers. – http://www.plantgenera.org/illustration.taxon=1&size=0 Bridelia assamica? With all due respect, Sir, flower pictures of Bridelia asamica, shared in the group website (https://sites.google.com/site/efloraofindia/species/m—z/p/phyllanthaceae/bridelia/bridelia-assamica) seem to look different.
