The one with much smaller flowers (in 1st and last pics) is same as in yesterday’s post –

I also feel more closer to Lindernia antipoda rather than Lindernia ruellioides as per details and images herein and as per comparative images at Lindernia Thanks – I initially thought it wasn’t Bonnaya antipoda since it didn’t have the conspicuous two yellowish stamonodes, but now I notice that it’s probably just concealed in the photo.

Actually, I was confused with పుండు pundu, = ulcer, boil, sore, blister, etc…. I referred Telugu – English dictionary
Google Translate gives నీళ్ల neella = of water
We can take it as aquatic, seems quite appropriate to habit and habitat of Bonnaya antipoda (Lindernia antipoda).
Thus నీళ్ల పుండు seems to be making good sense; what are your thoughts? Yes, it is fine. may be used to treat ulcers caused by water soaking we may use it neela pundu aaku-aaku meaning leaf . As of now there is no name in Kannada for this plant. As such I have coined a new word based on South Indian languages namely Tamil and Teleugu..
I think the word “ನೀರು ಬೆಳ್ಳುಳ್ಳಿ” (Neeru Bellulli) meaning water garlic is more suitable. The name derived using the Tamil name Thanni Poondu and Telugu name Neella Pundu. Both the names mean water garlic. Therefore, I have derived the equivalent name in Kannada. If you feel it is O.K. you may incorporate. I had discussed with … for coining a Tamil name for Bonnaya gracilis based on the name “thanni poondu” given to Bonnaya antipoda. I too was under the impression that “poondu” means garlic. However, he pointed out that the word “poondo” in this context means “herb”, thus “thanni poondu” would mean “aquatic herb”.
Therefore, I request you to think in terms of the generic “aquatic herb” … perhaps, ನೀರು ಸೊಪ್ಪು neeru soppu. I leave it to your discretion. Removed the Marathi (शेवाळ sheval) and Konkani (शेवाळ sheval) names of this plant.
One of my facebook friend pointed out that शेवाळ sheval has been misapplied to this plant; it is just a generic name for moss and other aquatic non-flowering plants.
