A new species of Lindernia (Linderniaceae) from India by MANGAVAYAL GOVINDAN PRASAD- Phytotaxa Vol 162, No 1 (2014)-

Abstract : A new species, Lindernia tamilnadensis is described and illustrated from Vijayanarayanam, Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu, India. The species shows similarity with a worldwide distributed species, Lindernia rotundifolia in its leaf and seed characters but differs mainly in comparatively smaller floral parts, lanceolate calyx lobes, in the absence of trichomes at the base of the anterior corolla lobes, the presence of staminodal appendages, undeflexed fruiting pedicels and globose capsules. Detailed description, illustration and other relevant notes are provided.

LINDERNIA MADAYIPARENSE (LINDERNIACEAE) – A NEW SPECIES FROM KERALA, INDIA by M. K. Ratheesh Narayanan*, C. N. Sunil, M. K. Nandakumar, Sujana K. A., Jayesh P. Joseph and N. Anil Kumar- International Journal of Plant, Animal and Environmental Sciences (2012) –
ABSTRACT: Lindernia madayiparense (Linderniaceae), – a new species of Linderniaceae from Kannur district, Kerala, India is described and illustrated. The new species resembles Lindernia parviflora by its 4- angled aerial stem; but differs in having dimorphic leaves, glandular puberulent pedicels and corolla with sharply 2-fid upper lip with acute lobes.

LINDERNIA NELLIYAMPATHIENSIS (LINDERNIACEAE) – A NEW SPECIES FROM KERALA, INDIA by C. N. SUNIL*, V. ABDUL JALEEL, M. K. RATHEESH NARAYANAN & V. BALAKRISHNAN- International Journal of Advanced Research (2014), Volume 2, Issue 3, 136-139-
Abstract- Lindernia nelliyampathiensis, a new species of Lindernia (Linderniaceae) from Nelliyampathi hills, Kerala, India is described and illustrated. It is closely allied to Lindernia parviflora, but mainly differs in having stout habit, ovate, 3–7 ribbed larger leaves, glandular pubescent pedicels, uniformly white corolla and papillose larger staminodes

Lindernia ciliata subsp. sivarajanii subsp. nov. (Scrophulariaceae) from India by D Tandyekkal & N. Mohanan- Nordic Journal of Botany Volume 28, Issue 2, pages 202–205, April 2010-
A new subspecies of Lindernia ciliata (Colsm.) Pennell is described and illustrated. Lindernia ciliata (Colsm.) Pennell subsp. sivarajanii Dhruvan et Mohanan differs from L. ciliata subsp. ciliata by its creeping habit, rooting from almost all nodes, distant and sub-aristate leaf serrations, upper lip of corolla almost equal in length to the lower lip and straight staminodes.

Lindernia : 1 post by 1 author.

I have updated eFI (efloraofindia) page on Lindernia

Attempts have been made to incorporate most of the species available in India & nearby areas with details & keys directly or through links as far as possible. It’s quite possible that there may be some discrepancy in the accepted names & synonyms taken from other links.

Species discussed so far in efloraofindia are given at the bottom of the page in the form of links against Subpages. On clicking them one can see all the details.

If someone can provide complete list of Indian species with source references it will be wonderful.

Any comments/ corrections are welcome.

Pl. go through Lindernia (Linderniaceae) with images of species in efloraofindia.

If you find any mis-identification, pl. let us know.

If anybody can send images of other species of this genera (for incorporation in the website), it will be really nice.
